Drama “Case No. 9” presented by GEO TV, produced by Abdullah Kadwani & Asad Qureshi, Written by Shahzeb Khanzada and directed by S. Wajahat Hussain.
This drama is based on a crime story, portraying the real life battle between law & justice,a powerful dominion and a weak.
This is a true mirror of society, where lies are dominating truth. The writer bluntly portrays the weak face of various minority sects as a woman, poor and a religious group.
In the beginning, a woman named Sehar belongs to a middle class family, an educated and lively part of society with all her abilities dared to thrive in male-dominating society but the ego of a powerful man of society named Kamran swallowed her dignity.
The best part of this drama is the detailed home work made by the writer. The writer seems to keep the public awareness factor by giving details of the law and order situation. Every episode is providing its viewers something new to learn.
As drama goes further, in episode 11 a very sensitive topic is touched by the writer in order to prove how a minority as a weak sect of society is crushed by strong molding the same law that is made for goodness of humanity.
The mis-use of blasphemy law to achieve personal goals in an individual's dispute became a normal part of each social sect. A character named Rohait, friend of perpetrator Kamran seems excessively loyal without keeping boundaries between good and bad. It is revealed in episode 11, a former hindu boy Rohait faced this situation. Now under debt of Kamran’s favour as he saved him from that false accusation. It is not mentioned in what circumstances he was converted but it is clear he is covering sin of Karman raped Sehar. And now Rohait accepts why he can not go against Kamran.
This is the story of dominion of strong over weak. Every weak sect of society is facing hardship in order to gain everyday rights.
Bravo! For a writer who worked hard for viewers. Hope! This trend of hard work and presenting truth will be adopted by other drama writers. The media has a vital part in setting social norms and this drama will set some positive steps for others.
