Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday told US President Donald Trump he had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize, handing Trump a nomination letter during a meeting at the White House.
Speaking to reporters at the beginning of their meeting, Netanyahu said Israel was working with the United States to find countries that would give Palestinians a better future.
"I wanted to express deep appreciation and admiration, not only of all Israelis, but of the Jewish people," Netanyahu said. "The president has already realized great opportunities. He forged the Abraham Accords; he's forging peace as we speak with one country and one region after the other. I want to present to you, Mr. President, a letter that I sent to the Nobel Prize committee. It's nominating you for the Peace Prize."
Government of Pakistan has already been recommended Trump for Nobel Peace prize for 2026 for his efforts regarding ceasefire between Pakistan and India war.
