Increasing cases of honor killing in Pakistan

During the month of July, three cases reported through media and dealt by police as high scale incidents.

Horrific incident of honor killing in Balochistan, Pakistan occurred on 11 July. The decision was made by Tribal leaders to shot dead a couple married against family and tribe. Suspects were caught up by police. but yet, authorities could not take action against responsible.

An other case of 18-year-old Sidra in Rawalpindi, was killed and burried by family. On report, Police took action and arranged to get body for postmortem. The autopsy, conducted by senior medical officer Dr. Misbah-ur-Rehman and her team at Holy Family Hospital, revealed that Sidra’s body was bloated and her tongue was protruding, typical signs of suffocation. Forensic samples were collected from the body and sent to a laboratory in Lahore for further analysis, which will help determine the exact cause of death. 

July 28, a couple Sana Muhammad Asif and Sajid Masih found shot dead on Karachi coastline. According to police early report, it seems like honor killing. further investigation is in process.

Honor killing is not new in this region, but people believes in human rights more than any self-made customs that were made to achieve 

This issue is getting hype on media. If this will not taken serious, it would become a trend for killers.
