Reverend Maurice Shehbaz is the founder of Prison Mission Society. His story of how this mission started is quite intriguing. It started many years ago when Rev. Shehbaz was incarcerated for what he tells us was no fault of his own. For a few years he was made to suffer in the dark and gloomy quarters of the prison. But, while the Reverend was made to suffer there, he generated a plan for after his release. He decided to start a ministry to help people such as him. He started the mission to help people that were forced into prison but had truly repentant hearts to God. It was a great gift that he could do mission work in the Name of Jesus while in prison. This is a place that is not usually known to allow ministry work.
Some of the key areas in which this mission works with people is by helping improve the health status of the prisoners by teaching them about health issues such as AIDS and drug prevention, helping to increase their education levels by offering educational materials and also giving classes in prison and helping to improve their social skills so they can become useful members of society with a large set of talents and skills that can be used to improve their lives and the lives of the community.
Furthermore, Rev. Shahbaz collaborates with local churches and organizations all over the world to raise awareness of the troublesome issues people in prison must face. Also, he oversees many individuals who assist in education of the prisoners. This can include doctors, professors, etc.
We want to thank Rev. Maurice Shehbaz for his hard work. He truly is helping people in the Name of Jesus and his work will not go unseen. For God in heaven sees all things and he will reward him for these brave actions he takes to help people who need help very critically.
